LOCATION

Andhra Refractories & Monolithics (ARM) is located at Rajahmundry in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh i.e. on the eastern coastline of India, near the Bay of Bengal. The location is situated by the side of the National Highway no.5 connecting the cities of Kolkata and Chennai. The plant is approximately 2 km away from the main city i.e. in the outskirts of Rajahmundry. This city is also connected by railway to all the important cities of India. One can also reach Rajahmundry by air from Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.

The important landmarks of Rajahmundry city are the mighty Godavari river and the famous Dowleswaram barrage designed and constructed by the renowned English Engineer Late Sir Arthur Cotton. The widespread paddy fields of East Godavari District have led to its synonym “rice bowl of India”. The city is also known for its ceramic cottage industries, particularly graphite crucibles. Rajahmundry is also a pilgrimage centre for the Hindus. The numerous “bathing ghats”, particularly “Pushkar ghat” and the temples are important landmarks of this city. Rajahmundry is also flourishing business centre for all types of commodities.




MANUFACATURING RANGE

The present range of manufacturing is alumino-silicate (fireclay& high alumina) refractory materials meant for almost all types of process industries viz. ferrous (iron & steel), non-ferrous(copper, aluminium, zinc etc.), cement, lime, glass, ceramic, fuel (coke-oven) etc. The refractory materials are for both “working” as well as “back-up” lining. The product-mix comprises of standards, shaped and unshaped refractory materials. The product range encompasses bricks, jointing mortars, castables etc. ARM also takes-up tailor-made shapes on specific requirement of the customers.

Another specific product under the existing manufacturing range is bed-material for FBC boilers, which has widespread market and usage.




GOOD NEWS

It is heartening to put on record that the developmental work has been initiated to manufacture insulating bricks. It is expected that the launching of the product will take place shortly. Process industries, particularly of Southern India will be greatly benefited.




FIRING FACILITY

Advanced brick firing facility in terms of tunnel kiln is in place and smoothly operating. This kiln facilitates optimum efficiency in terms of usage of fuel, minimize pollution, faster rate of production and drastically reduce manual labour. This facility also imparts uniform firing regime and thereby improves the physical properties of the bricks.




VITAL STRENGTH

The company owns a fairly large captive mine of good clay. This obviates the necessity to depend on external source of clay. The mine is located near the plant in Rajahmundry. The estimated deposit is two (2) hundred thousand tonnes. This makes the company an integrated plant.




QUALITY ASSURANCE

The Organization is of the opinion that quality control and its assurance is one of its key functions. To fulfill this objective, a fairly good in-plant Quality Control (QC) laboratory has been installed. Routine and specific tests are carried-out on regular basis. Customers can therefore feel assured of consistently good quality products.




MANAGEMENT

The plant is managed and operated by young Ceramic Engineers with the help of trained and experienced personnel. The Proprietor himself is a Ceramic Engineer with more than 15 years of on-job experience in the manufacturing and application of various types of refractory materials. The esteemed customers can therefore be rest assured of satisfactory services.
